Encouraging, empowering and teaching young men and women through athletics are among Amy’s many strong suits and passion. Amy was a varsity volleyball player all four years of high school and team captain the last two. In her senior year, she was all county and state, and played club volleyball. After high school, she went on to play USAV through college and beyond.
Her coaching career started at the club level in PA in 1996, and has continued at Ft Hunt Youth Athletic Association, Evolution Volleyball Club, BRYC Volleyball, Mt Vernon High School and now Monument Volleyball. She and Charlie Madison coached the 1st indoor club team in 2018 to a successful club season.
She hopes to share with athletes in the area more about volleyball through teamwork, hard work and perseverance. In her spare time she continues to play volleyball both indoor and outdoor, runs and enjoys time with her family!
Amy is IMPACT, SafeSport certified and Gold Medal Squared trained.
As one of the co-founders of Monument Volleyball, we saw a need and wanted to provide the athletes a positive memorable experience playing outdoor and indoor volleyball. We strive to provide a safe, learning, and fun environment for the athletes. We wanted to keep our focus on education and family where we can encourage leadership and commitment - to family, school, and team. Our older athletes mentor the younger ones. There is goal setting and an action plan to reach those goals!

Marcello Rodas
Head Coach - Girls

Marcello Rodas
Head Coach - Girls
Marcelo's journey with volleyball began in the heart of Bolivia, where he honed his skills on both indoor, grass and beach volleyball courts. His natural talent, competitiveness, and unwavering dedication soon propelled him to gain recognition with other peers as a good athlete and student of the game.
Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Marcelo found himself drawn to the grassroots level, where he began coaching at the recreational level. Guiding budding talents in the fundamentals of the sport, he instilled not only technical proficiency but also a genuine love for the game. His positive energy and ability to connect with players of all skill levels became his hallmark.
Marcelo's coaching prowess didn't go unnoticed, leading him to take over St. Bernadette Catholic School of Virginia's Volleyball Program. Taking the helm as the head volleyball coach for the whole 3/4 grade, 5/6 grade, and middle school team, he brought a wealth of international experience and a holistic approach to player development. Now Gold Medal Squared certified, Coach brings the tools to grow the game! Marcelo's coaching philosophy extended beyond the court, emphasizing teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.
At St. Bernadette, Marcelo fostered a culture of inclusivity, where each player felt valued and motivated to reach their full potential. His strategic game plans and innovative training methods not only elevated the team's performance but also left a lasting impact on the players, shaping them not just as athletes but as well-rounded individuals.
Marcelo Rodas continues to be a guiding force in the volleyball community, bridging the gap from interest on the game to wanting to compete on volleyball leagues in his players, and leaving an enduring legacy as a coach who not only imparts technical expertise but also nurtures the spirit of the game in the hearts of those he mentors.
